Unreal Engine Free Stuff May 2021

As every month, the Unreal Marketplace is offering some assets for free. If you are an Unreal Engine user, it is a good idea to keep an eye on the Marketplace every month, as there may be stuff you will like.

This month, we have an endless runner creator, foliage, poses and an RPG system. Let’s take a look.

The first one is called Endless Runner Creator. It’s a system that lets you create endless runners in an optimized way. It has 7 different game types (side-scroller, top-down, third person, etc.), and can build for mobile or PC. The system uses object pooling, making it easier on the system (for those who don’t know, object pooling is basically keeping objects in memory for reuse, rather than creating/deleting objects as you go).

Low Poly Style Deluxe 2: Tropical Environment is, as the name implies, a low polygon setting using the “faceted look” style that has become very prominent in the last few years. As you know, I am not a big fan of this style, but if you think it can fit any of your projects then take a look.

You can get some realistic plants in the Light Foliage pack. This pack contains 16 different grass and flower elements and 8 rocks, all with their respective LODs and 2K textures.

The next one is the Advanced RPG system, an agnostic system that lets you easily create an RPG system with different attributes (strength, dexterity, intelligence, etc.), stats (health, stamina, etc.) and parameters (melee damage, defense, critical hits, etc.). It also includes two different leveling-up methods, an automatic one or a perks-based system. Lastly, the system is built with multiplayer in mind, and is programmed in C++, although it has exposed Blueprints so you don’t need to write code to make it fit your game.

And lastly, we have the Strike A Pose Animation Pack, a collection of over 600 animations for multiple applications. The pack includes animations like idle, walking, clapping, gesturing, and more, and each animation is mirrored.

And that’s it for this month! To get the assets, you just need to go to the Unreal Marketplace and, under Free, click on Free For The Month.
